In Part 1 of our series, we explored the concept of maximizing and multiplying your time by thinking about it differently. A lot of you guys are going to be asked to do more in the coming years. God is going to ask you to be more fruitful and faithful.
Yet how?
We discovered that everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, but some individuals are able to accomplish more within that time frame.
We discussed the importance of finding what I call time multipliers. Time multipliers are the things that multiply what you can do in a given amount of time. With the same amount of time, someone can do more.
The Multiplier of Skills & Knowledge
The Multiplier of Sound Strategy
The Multiplier of God Miracles
Let’s I’m going to be talking about the second one.
The Multiplier of Having a Sound Strategy in Your Life
Not all actions are equal.
Many people are busy but not everyone is effective.
The difference between people who use their time well and people who don’t is that people who do are doing so strategically.
It means that their actions are not random, nor isolated.
But rather, what they’re doing is in constellation of a larger vision of what they’re actually trying to accomplish.
For instance, I do not believe Jesus’ actions were random. I believe that every interaction Jesus engaged in served a larger vision of what he was trying to accomplish (which was to make disciples on the Earth before he left Earth).
I believe Jesus had a plan.
Jesus knew what things needed to be done first, second, last, etc. I can tell because when people ask him to do things that fall outside of his approach, plan, and ethos, he refuses.
Strategic thinking is simple:
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Step 4
Most people spend their time starting off with Step 3. Or Step 7. Or they’re not even on a step!
And they wonder why they’re not growing or moving along in their life or why they’re not fruitful!
How to Be Strategic in Every Area of Your Life
Want to build a stronger marriage?
Want to figure out your calling?
Want to start a business?
Want to sharpen your gifting set that God has given you?
All of these require multiple steps. And if you want to see these things grow in your life, you have to arrange how to get there strategically.
That way, when you actually spend the time working on them, it is moving that area of your life forward.
And this is precisely why people with strategic thinking do more.
People with strategic thinking, when they do things, it moves the needle forward because the whole system is moving.
People without strategic thinking, when they do things, it doesn’t move anything.
How do you actually employ strategic thinking in your life? Here’s an easy breakdown
Step 1: Figure out where you need to be strategic
