How to not let the enemy completely ruin your life

There have been so many potentially great people that got their lives ruined by the devil.

I'm sure you can name a few. I, unfortunately, have the memory of so many lives that have fallen short of what they could have been.

Cheating on the wife?
Improper Use of Funds?
Huge Moral Failures?

All real stories of real leaders I know from up close and afar.

If you're aspiring to be great and to do great things for God, I'm sure that's not the path you want.

Yet how do you do so?

Here's the secret to not letting the devil ruin your life:

The key to not having your life ruined by the devil is to become incorruptible in your moral fabric.

Let me explain what I mean.

Jesus goes into the desert. And what happens? The devil tempts him.

The devil tempts him with food. The devil tempts him with his relationship with God The devil tempts him with power and authority.

As we know, Jesus doesn't flinch. In Jesus' greatest moment of weakness, even to the core of his being, he was incorruptible.

Jesus showed in the desert temptation that he was morally incorruptible. That was how he was able to completely live out his calling in God.

The goal is to be incorruptible like Jesus. So many Christians who aspire to be and do great don't address the things that make them corruptible.

They achieve a measure of influence and success, the Devil sees it, and offers to them something they didn't know resides in their heart. He dangles some money, or some salacious relationship, or a bad habit, and he finds a hole.

And because they were corruptible, (aka they weren't paying attention to what brokenness lived inside of them), and they fell. And they fall hard. And in the end their lives were ruined.

How sad!

If you don't want to fall hard, pay attention to the things that you can be corrupted by.

Don’t just focus on your outward influence or impact. Focus on the gaping holes in your life and heart that the devil can take advantage of and destroy.
